Dès le morceau-titre, on est subjugué par la beauté de la musique de Murray Fisher. Pourtant, on ne peut pas dire qu’on ne connaît pas les capacités de l’Anglais, ni qu’on ait déjà entendu des dizaines de titres d’electronica onirique de la sorte ; mais ici, la science de la construction, additionnant les différentes couches sonores avec une précision extrême, alliée au caractère profondément émouvant des nappes et mélodies porte le genre au pinacle. Après ces neuf minutes de splendeur, difficile de rester au même niveau mais MINT, assez judicieusement, opte pour un climat plus sombre dans Heart Shaped au sein duquel un piano perce difficilement.

Place ensuite à un titre plus enjoué avec A Figure on Horseback, sa pulsation soutenue et sa ritournelle au premier plan. Fort agréable, ce morceau précède Vighurs, chargé de clore cet EP en conjuguant mélodie aux notes détachées et notes basses plus rebondies pour un résultat tout à fait convaincant. Ainsi, si les trois derniers titres se situent dans la bonne moyenne de ce que peut nous offrir habituellement MINT, l’acquisition de Chasing Shadows est largement justifiée par le fabuleux morceau-titre."

"The dominant track must be the one which bears the EP title; a slow-building epic of glacial melody and by the end of its eight minutes, there's a sense that something special has occured. 'Heart Shaped' is much moodier and cinematic in feel; not dissimilar to the noirish foreboding 'Vighurs' which concludes the CD. In between, 'A Figure On Horseback' seems a little too busy at first but soon the melancholic tune takes hold and doesn't rest until its denouement. With this excellent release, Fisher seems destined for film soundtrack work. "
